Lowell Bailey

2006 Olympic Biathlete

Growing up in the Lake Placid area, it was natural for Lowell to have Olympic dreams. His transition from skiing to biathlon was natural in the pressence of the biathletes training in the area. Lowell progressed quickly to a victory in a Europa Cup competition as part of the National Junior Team as well as other podium finishes.

Continuing to compete internationally after narrowly missing the 2002 Olympic Team, Lowell decided to return to the University of Vermont to ski and complete his degree in Political Science / Environmental Studies. After a 2 year break from Biathlon, while skiing for the University of Vermont, Lowell excelled at the 2006 Trials and is in Europe preparing for the Torino Olympic Games.
