2011 Medtronic Twin Cites Marathon

Minneapolis - St. Paul, MN - October 2, 2011.

Over 27,000 runners participated in this weekend,s Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon events, including family events on Saturday, as well as the USA Track and Field Men's and Women's 10-Mile National Championship and the 30th Annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday.

The Men's 10-Mile Championship was won by Mohamed Trafeh in 46:46 and the Women's Championship was one by Janet Cherobon-Bawcom in 54:15. In a new equalizer format, the Men were given a 7:00 handicap, which was eventually made up by Trafeh earning him at $10,000 bonus.

The Men's Marathon was one by Sammy Malakwen in 2:13:11 and the women's race was won byh Yeshimebet Bifa in 2:28:24.
