Chicago-based professional triathlete, Andrew Starykowicz got his start in high school when his talents were recognized as an All-American swimmer.

At Purdue University Andrew earned is degree in Mechanical Engineering, where he also played water polo and started cycling and competing in triathlons.

From 2004 to 2008 Andrew competed and earned his elite triathlete license, all while working as a design engineer at Caterpillar.

In his first year as a pro Andrew has quickly become recognized as one of the fastest cyclists in the professional ranks, wrapping up the season by leading off the bike at the 2009 US Open and Ironman 70.3 World Championship
