2009 has certainly been a break through year for Jenna. After winning her first International event at the Mazatlan Pan American Cup she found herself reaching a lifetime best world ranking of 17th. She continued to race consistently finding a number of noteable results including a 2nd place finish at the 2009 USA Triathlon National Championships, 2nd at the 2009 Pan American Championships, 5th at the Accenture Chicago Triathlon and 6th at the IMG London Triathlon.
A native of the east coast, and a Harvard graduate, Jenna now splits her time between Australia, Europe and Boulder, Colorado. Trained by Australian coach Darren Smith and surrounded by a group of highly successful training partners (including the likes of Lisa Norden and Daniela Ryf) she has started a steady ascent of both the US and World rankings.
Her older brother Jarrod, 2008 Olympian and currently ranked in the top 10 in the World, serves as motivation for her as the two have aspirations of becoming the first brother-sister duo to toe the Olympic start line come London. With her sights set firmly on the Olympics you can be sure that Jenna will be a continuing presence at both ITU and non-drafting Olympic distance events for years to come.
